the truth and the lie by erebun the truth and the lie by erebun
The grotesque creature found something peculiar, a magical mirror. When the creature looked into the mirror, it saw a reflection. It was a beautiful image emerged on the surface. Enchanted, without realizing it was a mere illusion, the ugly truth fell in love with the beautiful lie.

sorry I'm not good at writing, I tried to draw a really ugly creature but nope haha, I hope you like it anyway ;w;

A creature borne with limbs of dark twisting branches, protruding daggers
Walks forwards on all fours, fingernails blackened and long, awkward strides as it staggers
Lanky and thin, grotesquely skinny and bent
This creature lived on, as life did not relent
A mirror a floating, cursed with the dark blood of cruel fate
Was brought to the creature whether it was out of amusement or hate
And the surface rippled, showing what the monstrosity wanted and yet could not bear
The lie of something too good and the truth of something never there
The mutant now stared, transfixed at the beauty that almost hurt to see
As he agonizingly knew that it was not reality
But he stayed there all his days, unable to go back to the real and leave the beauty
And so he turned into a petrified stone of longing and desperation
The creature yearning to be loved so much by someone else
Ended up loving a lie through himself
